From the Team

The Senior Team is lead by Denise Casey (Deputy Principal of Senior School), is aiming to “make a difference” to the educational outcomes of our senior students. Hilton Galey (Y13 Dean), Brian Hennessy (Head of Social Science) and Dr Leon Ruttersmith (Head of Science) form the team and after our team-building survival camp deep in the Kaimai mountains we are ready for the challenge. What are our intentions? Are we making a difference? We believe so! Time and exam results will tell, and if they are not so good, we will just have to try a little bit harder next year! We will finish with some words of wisdom from Tony Hawk – who used to be a famous skateboarder: Skating is not about winning, it’s about skating the best you can, and mutual appreciation. It’s about pulling off a trick after years of not being able to, and having other skaters be happy for you. Put another way: Life is not about winning, it’s about doing the best you can, and mutual appreciation. It’s about achieving something after years of not being able to, and having other people be happy for you.
