It is great news that Makaire Kopara has been re-elected, unopposed, to the position of student representative on the Board of Trustees.
Makaire has fulfilled his duties with an overt interest in making Waihi College a better place for students and his friendly approachable style make him an excellent representative and a valued Board member.

- New Zealand Secondary School Trampoline Championship (Elite Grade) 2011 – Gold medal
- New Zealand National Trampoline championship – Senior Women 2011 – Gold medal
- NZ North Island Trampoline championship – Senior Women 2011 – Gold medal
- Qualified for the World Open Women Trampoline Championship at Birmingham in November 2011
- Finalist of the Hauraki and Thames Coromandel District Sports Awards and Waikato Secondary School Sports Awards in the past 3 years – Junior sports women of the year
- Finalist of the Auckland Sports Award 2010 – Junior Sports Women of the year
- Pacific Rim in Melbourne 2010 – Synchronize trampoline (junior/intermediate age group) – Gold medal
- World Trampoline Championship in Russian 2009 – Silver medal in 17 over women category
- New Zealand Trampoline Championship – Senior Women Champion 2009
