Newmont staff netball challenge

Despite no apparent height advantage in the two teams, Newmont staff snuck a 16 - 15 win against the seniors. Congratulations to all the seniors who came along on the final Friday of term 2 to play netball against the Newmont "giants". The game was well unmpired and played in great spirit.

Thames Valley Netball Representatives 2011
Congratulations to the following students who have been chosen to represent the region in their grade.
College A Season Wrap 2011
The season began with the annual Wednesday morning fitness trainings with Bryce Madsen. The team building, motivational speeches and ‘gut-busting’ sessions provided a great platform for us to build on.
The trials held in early February were followed up closely by the Sports Training Camp/ Exchange with Taumarunui High School. Unfortunately the girls were unable to follow up last year’s effort with a win in a hard fought game against a prepared Taumarunui side.
Waihi College Netball Overview 2011
Netball is alive and well at Waihi College. In 2011 we have 11 teams entered in the local Waihi competition and the College A and Development squads are playing in the Thames Valley League.
Team Selection
Teams are selected in year groups for year 7 – 10 students. Seniors teams have the option to put a social team together with their friends or trial for the College A and Development squads. All seniors may trial for the College A and Development teams if they wish. The selectors reserve the right to invite any junior students to the trials that they may be interested in looking at for these teams.
