The 2026 Waihī College Ball was a spectacular evening of celebration, style, and unforgettable memories, held on Saturday night at the beautiful Waihī Beach Surf Club.
With the theme Twilight in Tokyo, students stepped into a magical setting inspired by the vibrant atmosphere and beauty of Japan. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear an incredible amount of effort had gone into transforming the venue. The Ball Committee did an outstanding job creating an immersive experience, with stunning cherry blossom displays, glowing fairy lights, lanterns, and thoughtful decorations capturing the essence of the theme beautifully. The venue looked absolutely incredible and created the perfect backdrop for a memorable night.
A huge thank you goes to the many staff and supporters from Waihī College who helped make the evening such a success. Events like this rely on a great deal of teamwork behind the scenes, and the support from staff, whānau, and the wider community was greatly appreciated.
The entertainment and hospitality helped make the evening truly unforgettable. DJ Mitch kept the dance floor buzzing all night with an excellent mix of music and energy, while Event Production Services created an incredible atmosphere through professional sound and lighting that brought the whole venue to life. Guests also enjoyed delicious catering from The Deck, whose food was a highlight of the evening. A special thank you also goes to Kelvin and the team at the Waihi Beach Surf Club for their support and hospitality throughout the event. Students had plenty of fun capturing memories with Classic Photo Booths, while Cassandra Sharp provided beautiful formal photography, helping preserve the special moments and glamour of the night for students to look back on for years to come.
