Being involved with artistic and cultural activities makes a big impact to the enjoyment of life, on employability and development of kids as they grow into adults. Waihi College has many opportunities for students to grow, participate and shine—all in their own unique way.

Throughout the year, there are always plenty of school and community events that our students love to get involved in.  These events include: Spirit Days, Matariki Concert, Te Ara Poutama (our Kapa Haka group), Music & Drama Concerts and Assessment Evenings, Music Lessons and Bands, School Quizzes at lunchtimes, Cultural Festivals, Gala Days, Talent Quests, School Productions and more.

We love members of the community getting involved with the Cultural activities we have here at Waihi College too – whether it’s watching performances or coming in to show your skills with groups of kids throughout the year, or help out back stage.

If you would like to get involved, please email our Arts & Services Coordinator.

You can also stay informed by visiting or following our Arts & Services Facebook page Facebook Arts & Services.
