My name is Anakah Lewis, and I’m running to be your next Student Board Representative because I believe that your voice comes first. My main goal is to make the school a better place by pushing for more lunch options (like having condiments to add more flavour),
having more sausage sizzles and bake sales for different charities, bringing back the canteen shop, and hosting more school sports tournaments for different sports! Another thing I want to work on is better communication. When I get voted in, I would love to hear
your feedback on things you want to change or any ideas you have. Having a stronger community in our school is also very important to me, so planning more multi-grade social events and supporting school clubs through open days will help everyone socialize. These are only some of my ideas.

XAVIER MOTLEY
My Name is Xavier and I am running for student representative to the Waihi College School Board.
My Number 1 Priority is to get our school finances back in order after a $150,000 deficit during the 2025/26 financial year. It does not mean that I will be trying to cut much, it means that I will be the student watchdog to spend the school’s money better for students instead of spending school’s money on things that are not really important to either students’ achievement, education, or student happiness or student needs.
My Second Priority is to get students more engaged with education. This will mean that we will be working more with the student to increase their engagement instead of working against them. Also I would change reporting for students with different educational needs working with the current report system. We would also include Yet to be Achieved, Achieved, Mastered, with the type of skills that the teacher is trying to work with in that specific student.
