Thank you to the parents and caregivers who shared their views on our Years 7–10 Health programme.
Overall, the feedback showed strong support for our current direction. Families value a programme that helps rangatahi develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage their wellbeing, relationships and the challenges of an increasingly complex world.

The community’s strongest priorities were:
- mental health and emotional wellbeing
- digital safety and online citizenship
- respectful relationships and consent
- substance education
- bullying prevention
- nutrition and self-care.
What happens next?
We will continue developing a Health programme that is aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum, grounded in hauora and carefully structured for each age group. We will strengthen learning about mental health and digital safety while continuing to teach respectful relationships, resilience and safe decision-making.
We also heard the importance of clear communication. Whānau will continue to receive information about programme content before sensitive units begin.
Thank you for helping us shape learning that supports the wellbeing and future success of our rangatahi.
