Over the next few weeks, we’re excited to introduce you to our amazing Board of Trustees by sharing a little about each of them and the passion they bring to our kura. As you know, our Board of Trustees for 2026 consist of: our Presiding Member, Tineke Iverson, our Parent Representatives Victoria Menary, Gemma Barden, Cat Sole and Karyn Williams, our Staff Representative Tracy Te Wake, and our Student Representative, Stuart Hartley. It will be great to get to know them all better and support their visions for our kura. This week, get to know Tineke Iverson:

Kia ora, I’m Tineke, Presiding Member of the Waihī College Board of Trustees.

I have been working in my home town of Waihī as a GP, after purchasing Dr Don McInnes’s practice in 2009.

I graduated from Otago University in 2000 and obtained Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2011. Since then I have gained a      diploma in child health (DCH) and have developed a special interest in skin cancer medicine, completing certificates in Dermoscopy & Skin cancer Medicine through the Skin Cancer College of Australisia.

I enjoy giving back to Waihī College and being part of the wider community, as the support and opportunities I received here helped shape the career I’m grateful to have today.
