Waihi College enjoys seeing their students be community minded and thinking about those around them.  We get involved in local fund raising events as well as look to the wider world for how we can help on a global scale.

We love members of the community getting involved with the service events and fundraisers we run with our students and staff here at Waihi College and truly appreciate their support.  Whether it’s coming along to watch the Head Shave, donating at various mufti days, baking for a bake sale, dressing up for Pride Day or getting involved with the 40 Hour Famine.

Many of the students in our school, both juniors and seniors, are involved in numerous community and charity groups such as Food Drives, Shave for a Cure, Keep Waihi Beautiful, Hands up for Kids, Breakfast Club, Leos, Pink Ribbon events, Valentine’s Day for the Heart Foundation, 40 Hour Famine and SADD to name a few.

With the help of our community, Waihi College has raised a considerable amount of money to support Leukemia through Shave for a Cure, the Heart Foundation through Valentine’s Day events and Cancer with Pink Ribbon breakfasts and Daffodil Day collections.  We also have weekly Breakfast Clubs held here on the school grounds as well as get involved in helping the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Our students and staff also get involved in charity events and community projects such as Big Clean Ups and also help drive change within the school such as ways to improve sustainability, raise awareness about bullying, social media safety and safe driving.

Keep an eye on the Waihi College Facebook page or the SchoolBridge App and get in touch with us if you’d like to be involved in anything we have cooking!
