The Year 7 and 8 Glow Party organised by the Junior Council was a huge success.
Year 7 and 8 Glow PAR-TAY!!
By Deija Gray, Stella Culton-Mayor and Millie Dunstall (Year 8s)
The Glow party went off at Waihi College Hall on Thursday 19th July. Mikaira Wells brought 'swagg' to the D floor while Stella Culton-Mayor rocked it with the Maori Catepillar. Adrian Gummong and Jordyn Hopa owned it with thier breakdancing biz.
Best dressed Year 7 girl went to Emily Croker and the Year 7 boy went to Kahn Stevenson. Hannah Bayes took out the best dressed Year 8 girl with her stunning ball dress and Jordyn 'Skuxx' Hopa was the best dressed Year 8 boy.
The dance batte was 'EPIC' with the girls owning the boys. Yeah girls!. After a short downbuzz to tell people to stop snapping glow sticks, Year 10 helpers Kate Dunstall and Josaye Frew picked up the momentum with their upbeat dancing. Fist pumping action was obviously a favourite!
Princess of the glow party went to the Gangstalicious Mikaira Wells. The prince was a hard fought battle between Bayley Easton-Ward and Thomas Coffey with Bayley winning. The Year 8 Queen dance off was between Stella Culton-Mayor and Deija Gray. This was a 'crack up' battle with Deija taking the crown. The Year 8 King fight was between Adrian Gummong and Jordyn Hopa but in the end Adrian owned the floor with his techo movements and won the crown. (even though there wasn't one!)
The event was a great success thanks to Mrs Graveson, the Year 9 and 10 Junior Council and the seniors who came to help. Thanks also to Isaac Kingsford-Tinling, Caleb Coulter and Julian Mayor for being awesome DJs. Thanks to all the 7s and 8s who came to support the junior council.
