Student Centre & Attendance/Absentee

Our student centre is open from 8.30am to 3.30pm each school day and is always a busy hub of activity.

This is where students come to sign in if they are late or need to leave the grounds for any reason.  We have two runners from the waka each day, who relay messages all around the school from parents, staff and teachers.

This is also our sick bay area and collection point for Kai Care meals.

More about Attendance/Absentee

We have several ways that you can let us know that your child/children will be absent from school.
You can ring the student centre from 8.30am or the front office from 8am 07 863 8349 or txt 021 830 055. If we have not heard from you by 10am then we will send a txt message and email to parents/caregivers. If you save the phone number/email address on this message it can be used for future absence notifications.

We need to be contacted every day that a child is absent unless you have told us that they will be away for more than one day.

There has been a change recently to the way that medical/dental appointments are coded. If you email or show us proof of the appointment, then we will code it so that the absence does not affect your student’s attendance rate. If we do not receive evidence of the appointment, then it will be coded M (medical) and will impact their attendance percentage.
