Year 11 Application 2024

Year 12 Application 2024

If we need to speak to any student about their Ball application, we will send for them.  If you do not hear from us, you can assume your application has been approved.

Remember we will need a photo of any guest that is coming to the Ball from outside Waihi College.  These photos need to be sent to Wendy via email on wendys@waihicol.school.nz.

We have also sent home a letter via email to all caregivers of our Senior Students – see below for a copy.  Should you have any questions, please contact Wendy on wendys@waihicol.school.nz or Jo Howell on joh@waihicol.school.nz

The theme for the ball has been announced! Year 13 students were sent a survey with various theme options from ideas they had come up with in our first Ball Committee meeting.  The winner is “A Night in Italy”. They also voted on the start and finish times and chose 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

The ball is open to Year 11-13 only. Year 11 students cannot bring an outside partner, while Year 12 students can, but they need to complete the appropriate application forms to be granted permission. Year 13 students must write any outside partner details on a sheet at the front office. These application forms and more information will be available sometime in April.

The event will be held at the Waihi Beach Surf Club, and as always, it is a smoke-free, vape-free, and alcohol-free event. For more details as we get closer to the ball, keep an ear on the notices, and an eye on our website and social media pages.

Our Ball Committee will be responsible for decorating the venue, designing the tickets and posters, choosing the music, organising voting and giving guidance on food and drinks (via The Deck).  We will also be on the look out for a photographer so if anyone from the community is keen to help out, please contact wendys@waihicol.school.nz
