For anyone following the “Waihi College Facebook” page – please understand this is an UNOFFICIAL PAGE and not one created by, or run by, anyone at Waihi College. You may have noticed the header photos are usually outdated and often not of great quality and maybe wondered why? It also only shares half information and often from a long time ago.
Unofficial pages are unmanaged pages created by Facebook itself and are designed to act as a placeholders for locations without managed business pages. They pick up information posted on the official pages and transfer some over from time to time and even link to our website (this bit at least is correct!).
Obviously Waihi College is a managed business and does have a Facebook presence and we are therefore trying to have the page shut down with any followers merged to the Arts & Services page.
This unofficial page seems to mainly follow posts from the Arts & Services page, but only sporadically, and should you follow this unofficial page, you will get an incorrect account of what is being shared – it only shows some posts and certainly not everything of relevance.
