Today an email was sent home to all caregivers in regard to the TOD (Teacher Only Days) in Term 2. Please see a copy of that letter below. Should you have any questions, please contact Ms Howell.
This letter is to inform you of the upcoming Teacher Only Days for Term 2 when school will not be open for instruction. There are also times when school will be closed for PPTA Paid Union Meetings, Ministry of Education ACCORD Days and national holidays. Please see below a summary of these dates to add to your calendar:
**Wednesday 8th May – Teacher Only Day (no classes for students). This teacher only day will cover learning around Neurodiversity and is delivered through a provider called Mind Over Manner. Waihi College staff will be joined by members of staff from our surrounding local schools for shared learning. www.mindovermanner.co.nz/
**Wednesday 22nd May – PPTA PUM – school will run from 8.45am through to 12.30pm with Periods 1-5. Staff will be travelling to Paeroa for the union meeting and there will be no classes in the afternoon session.
Buses will run at normal times
**Friday 31st May – Ministry of Education ACCORD Day (no classes for students). This teacher only day will focus on the changes to the New Zealand curriculum including NCEA changes and Te Mataiaho (junior curriculum).
**Monday 3rd June – King’s Birthday (school is closed)
**Friday 28th June – Matariki national holiday (school is closed)
